Wagner Murray is a boutique architecture and interior design firm in Charlotte, NC. The firm has earned its title as an industry leader thanks to award-winning work, high-profile projects, and big-name clients including NFL teams. After 30 years of business, Wagner Murray had outgrown its brand and wanted a refresh.
Behind the Rebrand
Since its beginning, Wagner Murray has followed the philosophy that great design appears effortless when executed with purpose and intention. We used the same philosophy to guide the development of its aspirational brand identity, integrating themes of purpose and intention within the new mission, values, and voice. The new logo features the brand’s original copper accent color to honor its past experience. The rectangle encasing the firm’s initials is a simple yet unexpected representation of a building and, more broadly, a representation of the firm’s passion for using design to connect people to places. We brought the logo to life by printing it in foil on lux paper to produce business cards and stationery. Lastly, to ensure the rebrand’s success, we created a Brand Standards + DNA Guide to help Wagner Murray and its employees seamlessly communicate the brand, voice, and values across any channel.

When building the new website, our goal was to illustrate Wagner Murray’s tailored, creative approach. The website features beautiful images showcasing each of the firm’s projects, emphasizing their range of style and capabilities. The design is simple and clean, making it easy-to-navigate, and includes the brand’s playful copper accents.
The firm wanted to find a way to invite Charlotteans to stop and experience how intentional design can make public spaces engaging and meaningful. To make this possible, we designed an interactive art mailer. The piece includes a custom map of the firm’s work throughout Charlotte and excerpts about each project, highlighting the artistic and historical elements within them. Our combined design and copywriting helped tell the story of a world full of discovery and meaning hidden in plain sight.
